Wipro sees slowdown in big new contracts

Davos, Switzerland: India’s No. 3 software services exporter, Wipro Ltd, expects demand for new software and systems to stagnate for up to two years as a result of the global economic slowdown, a top executive said on Saturday.

Unitech Q3 net dips 74 pc

NEW DELHI: The country’s second largest realty firm, Unitech Ltd, on Saturday reported a 74.12 per cent fall in its consolidated net profit at Rs
136.05 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2008, compared to Rs 525.78 crore in the year-ago period.

Bharati Shipyard net profit rises 19.18% in the December 2008 quarter

Net profit of Bharati Shipyard rose 19.18% to Rs 31.81 crore in the quarter ended December 2008 as against Rs 26.69 crore during the previous quarter ended December 2007. Sales rose 44.65% to Rs 254.90 crore in the quarter ended December 2008 as against Rs 176.22 crore during the previous quarter ended December 2007.

Bombay HC lifts interim stay on KG D6 gas sale

In the RIL-RNRL case, the Bombay High Court has lifted the interim order on sale of KG D6 gas till the final judgment is passed. RIL will be allowed to sell gas in the interim period at USD 4.2 per million British thermal unit (mmBtu). The judgement is expected by mid March.
